Friends of the St. Clair River inspires citizen action through stewardship, monitoring and education to restore, protect and enhance the St. Clair River and its watersheds. We implement a variety of initiatives including water and land stewardship, water quality monitoring, river cleanups, citizen science monitoring, lead research-based ecosystem management for communities, and promote responsible water-based recreation for paddlers, boaters and divers. We offer curriculum-focused classroom programs for K – 12, conduct youth field trips on the Blue Water River Walk, lead volunteer stewardship activities and trainings, host the annual Blue Water Sturgeon Festival, and many more activities.
